Ikpen Adebimpe Funmi

My name is Adebimpe and this is my 7th year in Olumawu school. I am from Yaru, Ifelodun local government area of kwara state. I was raised in the northern part of Nigeria (Jos -Plateau state, Bauchi and Kaduna towns); as a result of this I speak Hausa language fluently in addition to Yoruba, English a bit of Igbo, Urhobo and French.

I have a first degree in Agriculture (Animal science) from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (A.T.B.U),Bauchi (1997). In 2006, I obtained a Post graduate diploma in education (PGDE)from National Teachers’ Institute, Kaduna and currently, I am running a Masters Programme (M.Ed in educational Administration and Planning) at NOUN Abuja study centre.

I am Cambridge certified, a registered teacher (TRCN) and a Registered Animal Scientist (RAS).

I have been involved in teaching for about thirteen years and have taught from crèche through to senior secondary classes both in Olumawu school and other schools within FCT.

As an agriculturist, I have been involved in raising demonstration farms (vegetables and rearing of poultry and rabbits in schools  and personally).

As a teacher, I believe in imparting knowledge (especially in my field) to students and ensuring that every student who passes through my class develops a passion for agricultural science with a desire to go into practical farming.

I have held several positions of responsibility amongst which are form teacher, member examination committee, HOD vocational studies, assistant vice principal academics (head of junior secondary)etc.

My slogan is “hard work, dedication and diligence pays”.

My hobbies include playing table tennis, singing and cookery.
